Dexterity
Uses
- Meets Dexterity requirements for equipments
- Damage modifier on weapons with Dexterity scaling
- Damage modifier for Dark Sorceries, depending on the catalyst's Dexterity scaling in addition to the catalyst's MagAdjust
- Increases the casting speed, specifically the startup, of some Pyromancies, Sorceries, and Miracles.
Dexterity Requirements
Equipments listed here are only the ones that needs more than 8 points of Dexterity, because the lowest Dexterity possible on any starting character is 8 (by choosing Cleric as a starting class). Remember that this list is only the Dexterity requirement for an equipment, so may need to put points in other stats to effectively use it.
Casting Speed
- Dexterity increases the casting speed of a few offensive spells only. It does not affect weapon attack speed or anything else. Things sometimes believed to be but are not sped up include:
- Any buffs
- Any heals
- Tranquil Walk of Peace
- Force, Wrath of the Gods, Emit Force
- Acid Surge, Poison Mist, Toxic Mist
- Gravelord Sword Dance, Gravelord Greatsword Dance
- Fire Surge is sped up when held in the left-hand, not when held in the right hand though
- Crossbows, Bows and thrown Consumables
- Casting speed starts increasing at varying levels of dexterity, depending on the animation used, ranging from 27 dexterity with slow sorceries to 43 dexterity with fast sorceries, and duration decreases linearly up to 45 dexterity.
Notes
- Lack of Dexterity to wield a weapon or shield (as shown with the red X on the D-pad menu) doesn't make the character have a different animation like Strength does, but the weapon still gets the damage penalty and bouncing attacks
- Contribution as a modifier for weapon scaling drops drastically after 40 (for weapons in Normal/Raw/Crystal path and unique weapons) or 50 (for weapons in Magic/Divine/Enchanted/Occult path).
- The gained AR per level on physical upgrade paths is highest between 10-20, compared to that, the gain per level between 20-40 is 66.7%, and after 40 dexterity only 18.1%. Further information on the dedicated scaling page.
