Manus Catalyst

Manus Catalyst

In-Game Description

A sorcery catalyst born from the soul of
Manus, Father of the Abyss.
A rough, old wooden catalyst large enough
to be used as a strike weapon.
Similar to the Tin Crystallization Catalyst,
it boosts the strength of sorceries,
but limits the number of castings.

Availability

Created by the Giant Blacksmith in Anor Londo from the Soul of Manus and any Catalyst except Demon's Catalyst, Izalith Catalyst or Tin Darkmoon Catalyst for 5,000 Souls

General Information

Increases damage of sorceries but halves casts (including other spells) when held.

Cannot be upgraded.

The halved use count effect is purely detrimental; it doesn't have any connection with the increased damage when casting Sorceries with this catalyst. The increased damage comes from the Catalyst's high MagAdjust (and from the Catalyst's physical damage for Dark Sorceries). As such, it is not advisable to cast Miracles or Pyromancies while wielding this catalyst in the other hand.

Has the highest Strength scaling among Catalysts, and with enough Strength and Intelligence, it is the strongest Catalyst for casting Dark Sorceries.

Key

MagAdjust: The Magic/Miracle Power of the catalyst/talisman. This value scales with the user's Intelligence/Faith stat. The value displayed in the table is taken with maximum stats and varies with lower stats.
Damage:

The Damage stat dictates how much damage the weapon does. The Damage stats for a weapon are W / X / Y / Z:

  • W is Physical Damage
  • X is Magical Damage
  • Y is Fire Damage
  • Z is Lightning Damage
Durability: The health of the weapon. The effectiveness of the weapon will severely deteriorate when the durability falls below 30%.
Weight: The weight of the weapon. Note that carrying over 50% of a character's Equip Weight will reduce the speed of their rolls, while going over 100% will reduce their regular speed to walking and attempts to roll or backstep will leave them momentarily stunned.
Stats Needed:

The requirements determines how high various Stats must be in order to wield the weapon effectively. The Requirement stats for a weapon are W / X / Y / Z:

  • W is the Strength required.
  • X is the Dexterity required.
  • Y is the Intelligence required.
  • Z is the Faith required.

Wielding a weapon without the required Strength and/or Dexterity will incur a penalty to the Physical damage of the weapon, while lower-than-required Magic and/or Faith will reduce the spell damage.

Stat Bonuses: The Stat Bonuses rating indicates the level of bonus characters receive based on the associated Stat when they use a weapon. This rating can be S, A, B, C, D, or E (in order from most to least bonus for the associated skill).
Damage Reduction %:

The Damage Reduction stat dictates the percentage of damage reduced while blocking. The Damage Reduction stats for a weapon are W / X / Y / Z:

  • W is the Physical Damage Reduction
  • X is the Magical Damage Reduction
  • Y is the Fire Damage Reduction
  • Z is the Lightning Damage Reduction
Stability: The Stability of the weapon. The higher this value, the less stamina is consumed when blocking attacks.
Frampt Souls: This is the amount of Souls player swill receive if they feed the item to Kingseeker Frampt.
