Tin Banishment Catalyst
Tin Banishment Catalyst

In-Game Description

Catalyst of the banishment sorcerers who
flooded New Londo to seal off away the
Darkwraiths and the Kings who fell to Dark.

In contrast to other catalysts, the metal
catalyst qualifies as a weapon, as it
inflicts physical damage, however small.

Treasure from a corpse in Blighttown, along with the Crimson Set. While going down the ladders in Blighttown, stay to the left and you will see the corpse.

  • Cannot be upgraded.
  • The Tin Banishment Catalyst's melee attack is of Piercing property, and therefore can be used for counter hits, although it's not recommended to use it as a melee weapon.
  • As one of only two catalysts in the game with Dexterity scaling, the dark sorceries Dark Orb, Dark Bead, and Pursuers will gain additional physical damage from your DEX when cast with this catalyst. With 40 DEX and 32 INT, the Tin Banishment Catalyst will out-damage the Sorcerer's Catalyst and Logan's Catalyst, but only when casting dark sorceries.
  • If starting gift the master key you can open the door that leads to the Valley of the Drakes and run through Blightown to get this weapon along with the Crimson set and the Remedy sorcery.

MagAdjust: The Magic/Miracle Power of the catalyst/talisman. This value scales with the user's Intelligence/Faith stat. The value displayed in the table is taken with maximum stats and varies with lower stats.

The Damage stat dictates how much damage the weapon does. The Damage stats for a weapon are W / X / Y / Z:

  • W is Physical Damage
  • X is Magical Damage
  • Y is Fire Damage
  • Z is Lightning Damage
Durability: The health of the weapon. The effectiveness of the weapon will severely deteriorate when the durability falls below 30%.
Weight: The weight of the weapon. Note that carrying over 50% of your Equip Weight will reduce the speed of your rolls, while going over 100% will reduce your regular speed to walking and attempts to roll or backstep will leave you momentarily stunned.
Stats Needed:

The requirements determines how high various Stats must be in order to wield the weapon effectively. The Requirement stats for a weapon are W / X / Y / Z:

  • W is the Strength required.
  • X is the Dexterity required.
  • Y is the Intelligence required.
  • Z is the Faith required.

Wielding a weapon without the required Strength and/or Dexterity will incur a penalty to the Physical damage of the weapon, while lower-than-required Magic and/or Faith will reduce the spell damage.

Stat Bonuses: The Stat Bonuses rating indicates the level of bonus you receive based on the associated Stat when you use a weapon. This rating can be S, A, B, C, D, or E (in order from most to least bonus for the associated skill).
Damage Reduction %:

The Damage Reduction stat dictates the percentage of damage reduced while blocking. The Damage Reduction stats for a weapon are W / X / Y / Z:

  • W is the Physical Damage Reduction
  • X is the Magical Damage Reduction
  • Y is the Fire Damage Reduction
  • Z is the Lightning Damage Reduction
Stability: The Stability of the weapon. The higher this value, the less stamina is consumed when blocking attacks.
Frampt Souls: This is the amount of souls you will receive if you feed the item to Kingseeker Frampt.
