Transient Curse

In-Game Description

Limb of the victim of a curse.
Temporary curse allows engagement with ghosts.

The only way to fight back against ghosts,
who are cursed beings, is to become cursed
oneself. The safest method, however dreadful,
is to cut off an arm of the dead.

Use

Attack and block Ghosts without being Cursed or using a cursed weapon for a period of five minutes.

Availability

• Sold by the Undead Merchant (Female) in Undead Burg for 4,000 souls each. (max 4)
• Sold by Ingward for 1,000 souls
• Drop from Ghosts (5% drop rate 2x)
• Treasure from a corpse inside a pot in New Londo Ruins:
  • Just before the first narrow walkway, near a passive Hollow
  • Top right corner of the area where you encounter the first two Ghosts

Notes

• Counts as personal buff. Cannot stack with these items/spells:
  Bountiful Sunlight, Chameleon, Elizabeth's Mushroom, Flash Sweat, Great Magic Barrier, Green Blossom, Hidden Body, Hush, Iron Flesh, Karmic Justice, Magic Barrier, Power Within, Replenishment,

• Transient Curse's Status Effect doesn't have a HUD icon, only an aura. If you have another aura active, it may be hard to know when the duration's up. You can keep the Transient Curse selected in the quick access item menu so you know when it runs out (the icon will be greyed out if the effect is still active).

• Generally, a player has acquired the Lordvessel before venturing deep into New Londo Ruins. If you can afford to wear Covetous Gold Serpent Ring, you will get lots of Transient Curse drops just by killing Ghosts while progressing through the ruins.
